Owner and operator of Menu Tools Inc, Chef McKay has spent his entire professional life in the foodservice industry working from the bottom up. His experiences help him appreciate all aspects of the industry and identify with all levels of employees and their concerns and motivational triggers.

As an Executive Chef with Delta Hotels and the Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre as well as Food and Beverage Cost Controller for Marine Atlantic, Chef McKay honed his skills, systems and training methods, culminating in the formation of his own consulting firm Bottom Line Menu Tools / Hospitality Solutions in 1997.

Through Atlantic Canada Chef McKay has worked with in excess of 200 foodservice operators from small to medium sized private operators, to chain hotels and restaurants, to Convention and 5 star properties.

Recognized nationally by the Foodservice Industry, Chef McKay has been called upon by the CRFA (Canadian Restaurant and Foodservice Association) as a keynote speaker both regionally and nationally with regard to cost management, maximizing profits and staff motivation.

Trusted by lending institutions as an effective trouble-shooter, Chef McKay instructs, councils and trains both potential foodservice operators and existing businesses, as well as assists in troubled businesses with regard to staff management and cost controls.

The progression of Chef’s McKay’s skills has come from solving problems in his own kitchens as Executive Chef to problem solving in Atlantic Canadian Foodservice operations, to the development of the Menu Maestro, bringing profit making tools, and services to a wider base.
